How does Plank Grabber stick to the plank?

The Magic Grip Strip is designed to create suction to the plank, even when the surface is not completely smooth.

How do I get Plank Grabber to un-stick?

Simply tap the side of Plank Grabber with a rubber mallet and the vacuum will be broken until you need it again.

How long does the Magic Grip Strip last?

If you clean it with a damp cloth after every use and use the protective cover, it should last for many years.

Will it bend if I hit it too hard?

If you use the rubber mallet then Plank Grabber will not bend or break. It is made of Premium 2mm thick aluminium.

Will another gap form when the plank is moved?

Maybe. Sometimes, each plank will needed to be shifted towards the centre of the room to close the gap. Sometimes, Plank Grabber will drag the chain of planks with it (yes, it is that strong) and you might not need to move any other planks.

What if the plank I am moving pulls several planks with it?

Plank Grabber is capable of dragging a train of 4-5 planks along at the same time. Just add a bit of weight to the top of it when you are tapping.

How do I prevent the gaps from reforming?

Use Floor-Fix Pro adhesive in the gap before closing and it will hold it in place forever.

Plank Grabber™ by Floor-Fix Pro is a floor gap fixer and positioning tool for closing gaps between movable planks and helping position boards during installation. Its Magic Grip Strip grips suitable sealed surfaces, including textured laminate and LVT, where ordinary suction cups can struggle.

Two jobs, one tool

Repair an existing floor: grip a movable plank and bring it back into position to close a gap.
Install a new floor: grip and position planks, using the tool’s strike points and pull-bar hooks as directed in the included instructions.

Will Plank Grabber work on my floor?

The pad needs a clean, sealed surface, and a plank must be able to move for a gap to close. Check the floor construction as well as the surface finish.

Floor or surface	Suitability
Laminate, LVT and engineered wood	Suitable sealed surfaces, including textured finishes. For gap repair, the planks must be movable.
Floating click floors	For positioning movable planks. Preserve the floor’s required expansion gaps.
Sealed or glazed tiles	For gripping and positioning loose tiles during installation. It does not release tiles bonded to the subfloor.
Glued or nailed boards	The pad may grip the surface, but do not force boards fixed to the subfloor.
Raw, porous or unsealed wood	Not suitable: the pad needs a sealed surface to grip.

How can I help stop a gap reopening?

Closing a gap moves the plank back into place; whether it stays closed depends on the cause of movement. Where the flooring manufacturer permits joint bonding, Injectafix adhesive can be applied to the plank joint before closing it. Keep perimeter expansion gaps open and do not bond a floating floor to its subfloor.

What if the planks are tight?

Click Lube can help suitable tight grooved joints move. Follow the flooring and product instructions, and do not force damaged locking edges or boards that cannot move.
