It cushions contact between the bevelled edges at the top of a suitable click-floor joint. Click Lube targets friction lower in the joint.
Yes. Use the Test Kit to try Groove Gasket and Click Lube in separate areas. Wait 24 hours and compare the results. These treatments need a suitable V-groove.
Squeaky floor driving you mad? On click-lock floors — laminate, LVT, SPC, engineered wood — the noise usually comes from one of two places: the bottom of the locking profile, or the top, where the bevelled edges of neighbouring boards rub against each other as you walk. Groove Gasket is built to silence the second kind.
A precise bead applied into the groove of the joint cushions the contact between boards, stopping the bevelled edges from grinding and eliminating the creak at its source. No lifting boards. No taking up the floor. No callouts. Just a steady hand and a few minutes per problem area.
Groove Gasket is the sister product to Click Lube. Click Lube tackles friction at the bottom of the profile; Groove Gasket tackles friction at the top. Between them, they cover the vast majority of squeaks in click-lock floors — but you won't know which one your floor needs without testing. That's why we recommend starting with the Test Kit (a 30ml bottle of each), trying both on small areas, and waiting 24 hours to see which one wins.
If Click Lube hasn't fixed the squeak, or the squeak came back after a few days, Groove Gasket is almost certainly what you need.
