Tongue & Groove Floor (Suspended Subfloor)
We recommend starting with the following products and working through in this order:
-
Squeaky Diagnostic Kit: Includes Click Lube and Groove Gasket. Apply each to different sections of the floor and wait 24 hours. If there's no improvement, the issue may be excessive vertical movement or related to the subfloor. Proceed to the next step.
-
Floor-Fix Pro Adhesive: If the Diagnostic Kit doesn't help, use Floor-Fix Pro Adhesive. Inject it through a 2mm hole to reduce vertical movement, usually stopping the creaks. This adhesive remains flexible, allowing for the natural movement of floating floors. If the creaking persists, it's likely a subfloor issue.
-
Stop Squeak Repair Kit: This kit features special screws that secure the plywood or chipboard to the joists without compromising the movement of floating floors. After application, you'll need to fill the small holes. This step targets problems directly associated with the subfloor.
